Community Care Behavioral Health Organization Recruits Senior Medical Director to Support Innovative Pharmacy Management Program

PITTSBURGH (February 14, 2007) - Community Care, a non-profit behavioral health managed care company, announced today that Dr. Judith W. Dogin has joined the organization as the Senior Medical Director in support of its HealthChoices and Behavioral Health Pharmacy Management Programs. Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Dr. Dogin has significant work experience and interest in the fields of managed behavioral healthcare for medical assistance enrollees and with pharmaceutical management. In the pharmacy program, Dr. Dogin will be working closely with Lisa Strouss, Pharm. D., who has been successfully developing and leading this program, together with additional pharmacist, medical, and data analysis staff. Dr. Dogin began her new role on January 29, 2007.

The Behavioral Health Pharmacy Management Program has been in place at Community Care since 2002 and has resulted in improved care for members. In developing the program, Community Care infused key philosophical underpinnings of the recovery model of behavioral health care including collaboration with stakeholders; education and empowerment of consumers; use of best practices; and effective integration of the behavioral health, physical health and medication needs of the consumer.

Dr. Dogin, in discussing her new role as Senior Medical Director, stated that she is delighted to be joining the Community Care management team. Dr. Dogin also went on to say that, “Community Care is passionate about providing individuals and families with compassionate clinical care provided in a psychosocially informed manner. Through collaboration with individuals receiving care and those providing care, we will strive for an improved quality of life and recovery for those we proudly serve.”
