NewsCommunity Care Behavioral Health Organization Recruits Regional Director for the North Central HealthChoices ProgramPITTSBURGH (February 22, 2007) —Felicia Stehley, RN, has been named Regional Director for the HealthChoices North Central Program by Community Care Behavioral Health, a nonprofit behavioral health managed care company based in Pittsburgh. In this role, Ms. Stehley will provide leadership, direction and management for the new program and work closely with stakeholders in the 23-county region. Her office will be in State College, PA. Ms. Stehley was recruited as a result of Community Care’s selection by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (DPW) last year to manage behavioral health services (mental health and substance abuse) for Medicaid members in 23 counties of North Central Pennsylvania. The effective date of the contract, which is expected to produce $170 million in annual revenues, is January 1, 2007. In order to operate the HealthChoices Program, DPW’s mandatory Medicaid managed care program, and support the estimated 147,000 members in this 23-county region, Community Care is hiring a total of 135 full-time employees. In partnership with DPW’s Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS), Community Care will work to improve access to needed services and assure the quality of services being provided. The 23 counties included in this region are: Bradford, Cameron, Centre, Clarion, Clearfield, Columbia, Elk, Forest, Huntingdon, Jefferson, Juniata, McKean, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Potter, Schuylkill, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga, Union, Warren, and Wayne. Community Care currently contracts with 9 additional counties, including Allegheny, the largest in Western Pennsylvania. As of July 1, 2007, when Carbon, Monroe and Pike counties are added, the organization will be serving approximately 550,000 Medicaid eligible members in 35 of the state’s 67 counties. Before joining Community Care, Ms. Stehley was the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director for the Meadows Psychiatric Center in Centre Hall. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Thiel College.
