Preventive Health Program UpdateEach year, Community Care wants you to know how the Preventive Health Program is doing. Community Care has two Preventive Health Programs for HealthChoices members in Adams, Allegheny, Berks, Chester, and York Counties.
The program sends free newsletters to members with Depression and parents or guardians of children with ADHD. These newsletters can help them learn more about Depression and ADHD and what they can do to help themselves or their children feel better. Community Care looks at how the program is doing every year to see if it is working and helping members. Many members took part in both the Depression program as well as the ADHD program in all of the counties. A little less than 9 out of 10 members with Depression used the program. And a little more than 9 out of 10 parents or guardians of members with ADHD used the program. Most members that got the Depression newsletters said they were helpful. Most parents and guardians that got the ADHD newsletters also said they were helpful. Community Care is pleased that members are taking part in the program and finding it useful. We encourage you to use the Preventive Health Program. Any member can call to get the newsletters. If you would like more information about the programs or to get the newsletters, please call the toll-free Preventive Health Phone Line at 1-866-639-2943.
