As part of its ongoing efforts to promote recovery and consumer choice in the communities it serves, Community Care, in collaboration with Pat Deegan Ph.D. & Associates hosts a Webinar Series for consumers, behavioral health providers, family members, and other stakeholders.  The Series is designed to explore new ideas, research, and practices to support the concepts of recovery and self-determination for people with serious mental illnesses.

Coping with Distressing Voices: Helping Persons Recover Their Self-Righting Capacity

December 10, 2007

Recovery can be enhanced by developing personal skills to manage symptoms. In this 1- hour teleconference, we will introduce a new tool that can support staff and consumers in learning, and personalizing skills to cope with distressing voices. Ten coping skills and methods to personalize them will be introduced. Suggestions for how mental health programs can integrate these tools into everyday practice will also be offered. There will be time for questions and answers.
